WE MAKE
PATIENT VOICES IMPOSSIBLE
TO IGNORE.

We help health care, pharma, and health tech organizations understand lived experiences as expertise, and turn them into advocacy that drives real change.

Who we are

Unum Co. is a patient-centred strategy and advocacy studio. We are community builders, advocacy strategists, and translators of lived experience expertise. With decades of combined experience in patient advocacy across Canada’s health care ecosystem, we turn patient insights into strategic intelligence — and strategic intelligence into meaningful action. We work across two service lines: patient sense-making & insight, and fractional patient leadership.

WHERE WE COME IN

Patient data is everywhere. But understanding what it means, and knowing how to advocate with it, is where organizations get stuck.

The result: Insights sit in folders. Patient voices get lost in the noise. Advocacy efforts lack the strategic foundation they need. Strategy becomes disconnected from reality.

We bridge that gap. We don’t just interpret patient experiences, we help you build the advocacy strategies that make those experiences impossible to overlook.

Services
We have two distinct service lines designed to meet organizations at different points of need:

Patient Sense-Making & Advocacy Insight

For organizations that need to understand patients and their journeys.

Fractional Patient Leadership

For organizations that need senior expertise embedded in their teams.

Patient experiences should drive every meaningful decision in health care. When you connect with patients directly, you gain clarity (not just volume), access the communities they influence, and understand not only what is happening, but why.

We've spent our careers inside the Canadian health care ecosystem—from pharmaceutical boardrooms to patient community tables. We don't observe from the outside. We've lived it, led it, and know how to operationalize it.

Their commitment to person‑centred care is evident in every interaction, as they consistently take the time to listen, understand our needs, and adapt their approach to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients, families, and partners alike."
